RF and Certifications Engineer

Our client is a world leader in narrowband radio frequency smart metering solutions headquartered in Cambridge, UK. They are seeking an experienced RF and Certifications Engineer to join their Hardware team in Cambridge.

This role is ideal for a professional with 5-7 years of experience in RF circuit design and validation, particularly someone who has been involved with production certification and conformance.

Key responsibilities for this RF and Certifications Engineer job based in Cambridge:

  • You will be pivotal in supporting the hardware team through various development projects, testing, and validation of RF-based products and designs.
  • Your responsibilities will include formal compliance testing, product certification to international standards, and hands-on debugging using standard lab equipment.

Experience and Skills Required for this RF and Certifications Engineer job based in Cambridge:

  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in testing and validation of sub-GHz RF design for technologies such as SigFox, LoRA, Zigbee, and more. Proficiency in testing cellular modems for 2G/3G/4G/5G technology and experience in EMC/EMI compliance testing is essential.
  • You should also be adept at debugging EMC/EMI issues, using RF test equipment like Spectrum Analysers, and managing certification test plans.
  • Extensive experience working with country specific certifications to ensure they meet government rules.
