Your new company
This fantastic nursery located in the Crawley area is looking for a Room Leader to join their expanding team. The organisation is located close to local transport links. The nursery holds a Good and Outstanding Ofsted rating for their Baby and Pre-school Nurseries. The nursery is based across 2 sites within close proximity of one another, one for Babies and one for Pre-School aged children. The staff aim to understand individual children and tailor their learning to best suit their development needs. The nursery has extensive experience in meeting the needs of children and working hard to maintain a strong relationship with parents and carers.
The nursery environment is inspired by the approach of 'Reggio Emilia'. They aim to provide learning opportunities to enable children to use their own creative skills. The nursery curriculum covers a range of topics utilising equipment such as music, sensory equipment as well as artistic and creative materials to allow children to explore all of their senses.

Your new role
Your role would be as a nursery practitioner in the nursery in Brighton. You will be assisting with the day to day running of the classes, supporting the children and using your initiative to help them succeed. They are open 07:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday all weeks of the year except for one week at Christmas.

You will be responsible for the the care and welfare of children in the setting in compliance with Company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Childcare Act 2006 and Health and Safety legislation, all within the requirements and guidelines as laid down by Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance. You will need to be a positive role model for colleagues and children, being able to offer continuous support of the children, ensuring their learning and development is supported at all times. You will need to have the ability to manage children's behaviour effectively, communicating with parents and working on strategies where appropriate. You will need to liaise with parents to ensure effective communication within the nurseries, assisting with regular parents evenings, open days and outings with the children.

As a Room Leader you will assist the management team in dealing with investigations, in line with company policy. You will oversee settling in and transitions through the nursery and onto school for all children are carefully considered and communicated with parents, carers and colleagues in line with the nurseries procedures. Ensure the health, safety and security of all staff, children and visitors ensuring policies and procedures on security and safety are adhered to at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have NVQ Level 3 Child Care Qualification. You will need to have worked within a Nursery/primary/pre-prep environment in the last 2 years, that can provide a reference. You need to have a clean enhanced DBS Check on the update service or if not, the nursery will run an enhanced DBS check for you. You need to be flexible and most importantly, have a fun personality that the children will be able to engage with. It is important that you have a good understanding of children's development and their needs as well as ensuring positive management of children's behaviour.
