Royalties Accountant

Robert Half are working with a global music and technology group to recruit a Royalties Accountant for a 6 month interim role paying between £30-50/hour inside IR35 (depending on experience). This role will be based on site 2-3 days per week at the Central London office.

The group offer a range of products servicing a wide variety of clientele. There role will provide exposure to senior leadership within the business reporting into the SVP Finance.

The Role

As the Royalties Accountant, you would be supporting with:

• Key point person for owning and managing organisations royalty process

• Liaise with legal team on term sheets, renewals, verifying minimas
• Liaise with the data team on imputed rates, calculations and report outputs
• Manage contractual reporting obligations to publishers and agencies
• Review and approve all proposed settlements and advances with suppliers
• Analyze monthly royalties by label to identify usage trends and inconsistencies
• Work directly with Finance Manager to ensure all payments are processed timely and accurately
• Ensure monthly accrual calculations are aligned with the supplier contracts
• Create and maintain database of label contract terms
• Be the internal source of truth for the most updated supplier royalty rates
• Plan, execute and manage the change to a self-billing model for all labels, including major labels
• Identify and implement royalty software to manage royalties generated and payments and also produce analysis reports

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience within similar Royalties Accounting position, ideally within the music industry
• Strong data and analytical experience with a good knowledge of excel.
• Prior experience in a similar interim / contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

As well as a salary of between £30-50/hour inside IR35 (dependant on experience) the business offers hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the office) from their office in Farringdon.
