Hampton College is an established, successful, all-through school, which formed its own multi-academy trust (Hampton Academies Trust - HAT) in 2014. The Trust is also the education provider for the neighbouring secondary school, Hampton Gardens School and Hampton Lakes Primary School, which opened in September 2019. In 2020, Dogsthorpe Infant School joined our trust. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.

Hampton College currently serves the community of Hampton, on the southern outskirts of the city of Peterborough and has good links to Cambridge and Stamford. Hampton Gardens School serves the neighbouring Cambridgeshire village of Yaxley, as well new housing being added to the Hampton East development, where Hampton Lakes Primary School is located.

AFEGUARDING LIAISON OFFICER

We are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Officer who will lead on whole school safeguarding, as well as working with families, external agencies and other staff members to support our students.

As the Safeguarding Officer, you will be able to work effectively with others, adopting a positive ethos and understanding the value in partnership working. You will need to have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think innovatively and you will embrace change. You will be a strategic leader who is inclusive and collaborative in approach.

You will have significant knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the Early Help process, as well as knowledge of strategies and interventions that can be applied in an education setting to support our young people and their families. You will have experience of working with teenagers and of using evidence-based tools to support them; your communication skills will be excellent.

You will keep abreast of legislative and policy developments in safeguarding, and you will ensure that any changes or best practice updates are incorporated into the school’s approach to safeguarding. You will be able to identify and remedy any training gaps in safeguarding knowledge as a result.

Working Hours:

37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days

8.00am - 4.15pm Monday to Thursday (with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break)

8.00am - 3.45pm Friday (with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break)

(Please note that there may very occasionally be a need to extend working hours, if there is a section 47 referral)

Salary:

Safeguarding Officer (Grade 10)

Full-time salary (52 weeks) from £36,648 to £40,221 per annum

Term-time salary (37hrs per week/term time plus 5 days) from £31,381 to £34,441 per annum
