We are looking for a Sales Assistant to join us at our Kings Road Reuse & Recycling Centre Shop. To be successful in this role, you will provide a high quality retail service to ensure the sale of all goods that come into the Reuse & Recycling Centre Shop, both online and in store. Working alongside one other Shop Assistant, you will work together, but also on your own autonomy, to ensure the shop is looked after to a high standard.

LondonEnergy Ltd (LEL) is a leading Energy from Waste company based in north London, contracted to the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) to provide waste management services to the seven north London Boroughs.

Responsibilities:

This role requires a high level of customer interaction.  Sales Assistants should have good customer facing and communication skills. This includes:

  • Providing high levels of customer service by greeting and assisting customers who enter the shop.
  • Dealing with customer queries in store, telephone and by email.
  • Processing on-line and in-store returns and refunds and managing face to face collections.
  • Reconciliation of the cash register with receipts and reporting discrepancies to the RRC Manager.
  • Receiving, processing and organising deliveries of stock items (stock control and management)
  • Inspecting goods ensuring they are in sellable condition; identifying high valued goods and pricing products accordingly.
  • Displaying and merchandising of goods in the shop and online, ensuring goods are correctly priced and maintaining high overall standards of display and housekeeping.
  • Design and accurately maintain an excel spreadsheet in order to catalogue goods for sale in the shop, ensuring goods are correctly priced.
  • Setting up and managing an eBay seller's account to sell goods online including taking pictures of stock and uploading onto the eBay site, monitoring sales and  dealing with queries from online customers.
  • Working within established guidelines, particularly with brands.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a customer facing role, ideally retail  would be desirable.
  • An understanding of reusable materials would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience of cashing up, banking and reporting of figures with.
  • Experience dealing with cash and electronic card payments ideal.
  • Having a friendly, helpful and engaging personality.
  • Comfortable working with members of the public with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work alone.
  • Good interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, planning and organising, and customer service.
  • Good level of numeracy (ideally to GCSE level).
