Our client is a leading independent equipment hire company in the Northwest, with Depots strategically located across the region. You will play a crucial role in driving sales, fostering strong customer relationships, and managing a diverse range of responsibilities.

Key Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with depot staff, customers, other depots, workshops, and sales teams.
  • Maximise sales opportunities for the depot and the wider group.
  • Ensure all products hired to customers are safe and properly tested according to company procedures.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by answering phones promptly, handling inquiries, and processing orders efficiently.
  • Assist customers at the depot counter, providing swift and accurate responses to their needs.
  • Take and process orders, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate delivery and collection of orders according to customer requirements.
  • Manage IT system inputs and paperwork related to on-hires, off-hires, and stock transfers.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of depot equipment for hire/sale, including accessories, safety, and test & run requirements.
  • Notify the Depot Manager of any necessary equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Handle cash transactions securely.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized depot, especially the hire desk area.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and sales abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage hire contracts effectively and resolve issues.
  • Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and computer use.
  • Superior customer service skills with a confident, professional, and outgoing demeanor.
  • Passion for sales and confidence in your capabilities.
  • Experience in telephone-based sales and customer-facing service.
  • Outstanding telephone manner and ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Strong administrative skills and computer literacy.
  • Awareness of manual handling procedures.
