Sales Ledger Assistant
  • Annual Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
  • Location: Gillingham

We are in search of a Sales Ledger Assistant to join our client's finance team within the automotive industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in financial administration and a passion for accuracy. As a Sales Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the sales ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and processed.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain and update sales ledger accounts, ensuring all sales transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Issue invoices and credit notes to customers while managing the accounts receivable process.
  • Reconcile sales ledger accounts to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Assist with the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of payments and reducing debtor days.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and customer queries in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Prepare bank deposits and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to verify and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Assistant or in a similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of sales ledger processes and accounts receivable.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • AAT qualification or working towards an accounting qualification is advantageous.
