Sales Ledger/Billing Administrator

Hertford

£30,000 - 32,000 per annum (plus excellent benefits)

Full time; 37.5 hours per week; 9:00am-5:00pm

The requirement to work full time onsite.

Working for a reputable local employer of choice, this role is a great opportunity to join a well-known organisation on a full time, permanent basis.

The primary objective of this role is to provide a complete, efficient and accurate fee billing and sales ledger service for the organisation, including customer liaison and support to budget holders.

The Administrator plays a central role in processing invoices and collecting the resulting payments.

Accuracy and attention to detail are key skills to succeed in this role, which involves processing large volumes of information and adhering to deadlines. It is also important to be able to build internal and external working relationships with discretion and professional courtesy. Confidentiality is integral throughout.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide a complete, efficient and accurate accounting service for the billing and sales ledger function including the timely and accurate processing of the following:

o Sales invoicing

o Billing of accounts for events

o Additional charges including recovery of expenses

o Registration fees and deposits

o Processing refunds as required

o Bank receipts and payments

  • To maintain regular reconciliations of the accounts which support our billing and debtor process including:

o Debtors ledger to control accounts with debtor reports

o Bank and cash accounts to statements

o Deposits and prepayments to records

o Agent creditor accounts to fee amounts billed and fee payments received.

o Fee billing recovery accounts to supplier invoices

  • To be responsible for credit control following established procedures for debtor collection
  • To deal professionally with customer billing and other enquiries
  • To support the annual audit process
  • To assist in the smooth running of the Finance department, including supporting other members of the team as and when required, e.g., Purchase ledger / Cash book recording
  • To provide other reporting and support as required
