Sales Ledger Clerk Role Overview
As the Sales Ledger Clerk your job will primarily involve the maintenance of the company’s sales ledger, the production of daily sales reports for management and liaison with other departments to facilitate efficient information management and resolve queries and discrepancies.
The position will also involve management of credit account customers, handling of cash and preparation of daily banking figures, and some credit control. There will also be some element of liaison with the purchasing side for stock purposes.
Sales Ledger Clerk Responsibilities:
- Preparations of daily figures for all departments & processing of invoices onto accounts system
- Counting and reconciliation of daily banking
- Management of incoming sales ledger cash and banking
- Reconciliation of monthly sales ledger
- Reconciliation of cash book, bank account and petty cash
- Preparation of monthly statements and follow up of unpaid debtors, including liaison with debt recovery where necessary
- Knowledge of cash book and petty cash procedures
- Calculation of intercompany balances
- Reconciliation of nominals on monthly basis
- Prepare monthly VAT adjustments and health club membership reports
- Occasional holiday cover for purchase ledger when required
Sales Ledger Clerk Experience Required
- An experienced all-round accounts clerk
- Good knowledge of double entry bookkeeping
- Able to work to daily and monthly deadlines
- Strong IT skills
- Personable and with good communication skills
