With 45 years of business, our client based on the outskirts of Plymouth is a trade-only specialist office technology distributor and they’re a family business who distribute for 40 tech brands – Epson and Phillips to name a few.  

They’re seeking an ambitious and driven Business Development Executive to drive new business development opportunities as well as develop and support existing customer initiatives to facilitate business growth.

Job details of the Business Development Executive:
  • £25,000 p/a plus Bonus £5,000 p/a
  • Nest Pension scheme
  • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Monday – Friday, full time
  • Hybrid working can be discussed 

As the Business Development Executive, you will:
  • Drive new business development within the Office Products and IT channel
  • Develop / support existing customers
  • Build and maintain an active managed account base and develop incremental new business accounts
  • Understand the features of products in order to deliver a consultative service to customers
  • Support the day-to-day inbound customer activity
  • Setting goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new target market initiatives
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients
  • Occasionally attending conferences and industry events where required
  • As and when required, ensure all orders received are entered into the system accurately

Skills and Experience of the Business Development Executive: 
  • Methodical / entrepreneurial / analytical
  • Commercial experience in a similar B2B environment
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills 
  • Sound knowledge of the practical application of a sales department
  • Track record of understanding how to reach and identify prospective
  • Able to go the ‘extra mile’ to exceed
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Experience of building relationships with customers
  • Able to provide evidence of working in a target related
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, v-look up / pivot
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management and personal organisational skills
