Job title: Scala Developer (Contract)

Client: Elite Tech Client

Experience Level: 4+ years'

Location: London (hybrid)

Day Rate: Up to £750p/d Inside IR35

This elite fintech client are looking for a talented and motivated Scala Developer to play a key role in helping the business and supporting the development through to a successful outcome.

You will use Scala and SQL to build, update, and examine various Scala-based application requirements for various systems, resulting in easier-to-use user interfaces.

This is an excellent role in a high performing team. A great opportunity!

The following skills / experience is required:

  • Experience in Scala and SQL
  • Good experience in building and maintaining applications with Scala
  • You possess a strong understanding of databases, performance tuning, SQL queries, DB-related issues, Scripting, shell, Autosys, etc
  • Strong finance experience
  • A conceptual thinker who can present complex ideas and topics to a wide audience (both technical and non-technical)
  • Good analytical skills, able to contribute to major business change
  • Able to work to tight timescales, be commercially aware, and have the ability to work well within a team structure

The following is desirable:

  • Ability to quickly react to situations whilst maintaining a high quality of work
  • Experience using Spark and NoSQL
  • Continuous Integration
