Job Advertisement: Interim School Business Manager

Veritas Education is currently seeking an experienced and highly competent School Business Manager for an esteemed Burnley Primary School. This position is to commence as soon as possible.

Position: Interim School Business Manager (Grade 8)

Location: Hyndburn, Lancashire

Start Date: March 2024

Contract Type: Temporary, potential permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial management of the school, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Manage all aspects of the school's administrative and support functions, ensuring smooth operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of administrative staff, providing guidance and support as required.
  • Develop and implement efficient administrative systems and processes to enhance the effectiveness of the school's operations.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and local authorities, to ensure effective procurement and contract management.
  • Oversee the management of the school's premises and facilities, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in education finance and management, and apply best practices to enhance the school's performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a School Business Manager or similar role, preferably within a primary school setting.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing school finance and administration.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using financial management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • A relevant qualification in finance, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
