School Sports Coach and Classroom Support Job

Your new company
Hays Education are working with a Special Educational Needs School based between Nottingham and Derby. The school prides themselves on delivering an exciting and varied curriculum based on the needs of their individual pupils, maximising each child's academic potential whilst developing their independence and life-skills. This position will initially be a temporary role. However, for the right candidate, this role has the potential to become permanent.

Your new role
The school have an enthusiastic staff team who deliver high quality teaching and a wide range of exciting extracurricular activities, including team sports, mountain biking, swimming, football, dance and more. You will be working across the school to assist with in-classroom support and behaviour management, with a key focus on working within the PE department and supporting with lessons and coaching. You will range from working 1:1 with students, managing small groups, and also full-class work. You will be working closely with the teachers and other support staff to create a positive and productive environment.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an energetic and passionate individual with a background in sports coaching or working in a school with children and young adults. You will be able to manage behaviour and stay calm in challenging situations. You will be a great team player on and off the sports pitch, collaborating with other staff to ensure the best learning outcomes for all students. You will also be able to build strong bonds with the students, creating trusting and positive relationships.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a daily rate of between £85-£105 (depending on experience).
