Your new company

Hays Education is part of Hays Specialist Recruitment - the UK's largest and most successful specialist recruitment group. Our Education division has 33 offices nationwide and is unique in having a dedicated permanent recruitment division that was established 8 years ago and works in exclusive partnership with over 200 schools within the state and independent sector to facilitate all permanent vacancies from initial advert to appointment. Each year we help place more than 500 teachers in their first position. Hays Education works in exclusive partnership with schools locally on a permanent basis, giving you immediate access to some of the most sought-after positions in the market.

Your new role

We are working with a variety of partner schools in the wider Sheffield area to fulfil vacancies for teachers of Science. You will be joining strong Science departments dedicated to making the subject accessible and relevant to all pupils irrespective of their ability, age and background. Our schools are keen to strengthen their links to other subjects, for example PSHE, through work on healthy lifestyle and positive relationships.

Our schools encourage Science teachers to be reflective in their practise, encouraging consideration of areas of improvement through supported professional development. You will be encouraged to think outside the box with your lesson planning, creating a variety that will excite your students and promote engagement. You will also be expected to mark and assess student work in order to adapt your planning to fulfil individual needs. The successful applicant will work across KS3 and KS4, therefore must be confident in their abilities to work with both.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidates for these roles will be enthusiastic about the opportunity to join a thriving secondary setting, and be willing to contribute to its continued success. You will hold a DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one with immediate effect. For these roles we are only able to consider qualified teachers or unqualified teachers with at least three years experience of delivering the subject at secondary level. NQT/ECT are encouraged to apply as there is opportunity for permanent opportunities to arise for the right candidate.

What you'll get in return

Hays Education are proud to be able to offer candidates;

  • Free ongoing CPD through our innovative hub
  • Competitive weekly pay
  • £250 referral bonus for successful friend/family referrals
  • Unrivalled compliance procedure to ensure both you and your school meet the DfE standards
  • Holiday pay and pension scheme
  • Opportunities not available on the open job market
