Science teacher Bolton - Autumn term

A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a outstanding secondary school in Bolton, to join them on a full-time basis, teaching key stage 3 & 4 from September for the Autumn term. It is likely another role could become available due to an upcoming maternity leave, so the role could extend for the whole of the academic year.

This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced teachers.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches AQA at GCSE and has a key focus on an investigative approach that compliments their well research pedagogy. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way.

This outstanding school has high expectations of the pupils which the students take in their stride everyday by having a positive approach to learning. Independence is an important life skill for all pupils at this school. Pupils are keen to take on responsibility. This includes applying to be leaders in a wide range of academic subjects, as well as in wider skills such as promoting the well-being of others. Pupils develop an extremely strong sense of community.

Minimum rate of pay from GBP153.85 per day.

Hours 8:30am 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in science

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (desirable, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.80.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
