Science Technician

  • Salary: Competitive (NJC Level 4 points 8-12)

We are seeking a Science Technician who is passionate about science and eager to support student learning to join an outstanding school in Slough. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our Science Department, ensuring that laboratories are well-maintained and resources are prepared for lessons.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Collate requisitions and prepare materials and resources for science lessons.
  • Liaise with subject teachers to facilitate the use of AV/ICT equipment.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of special events such as induction day and science week.
  • Create and assemble basic equipment for practical work.
  • Maintain, clean, store, and replace apparatus, materials, chemicals, and tools, ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Science qualifications up to ‘A’ level or equivalent.
  • A genuine interest in and love for science.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
