Tradewind Recruitment is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Science Technician at a distinguished secondary school in Oldham. We are searching for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join the science department, starting in September.

About the Role: As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring a safe working environment
  • Assisting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations
  • Managing the inventory of chemicals and scientific apparatus
  • Conducting routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory
  • Supporting the development of new practical activities and resources

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Science Technician in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Proficiency in handling laboratory equipment, strong organisational skills, and a solid understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Qualifications: A background in science (A-level or equivalent) is essential. A relevant degree or technician certification is advantageous.
  • Attributes: Attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
