VNA Education have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Science Technician, working with a mainstream school in south London on a long-term temporary basis starting in September 2024.

The school require a Science Technician that preferably has prior experience in a laboratory setting that is confident with handling materials and science equipment. The Science Technician will:

  • Provide comprehensive technician support service to the staff and students undertaking the science curriculum.
  • Ensure efficient and prompt preparation of materials and equipment for science classes i.e. demonstrations, experiments, examinations and assessments by students and ensuring by liaison with appropriate members of the teaching staff, that adequate hardware etc is available. Including bulk preparation of chemical stock solutions.
  • Assist in lessons and examinations, as directed, ensuring that teaching staff are provided with the appropriate support and are familiar with the operating procedures of the materials/equipment in use.
  • Support teaching staff and students during lessons as directed.
  • Clear equipment and laboratories after each lesson, to include washing up and disposal of hazardous material in accordance with guidelines.
