Science Technician
Role: Science Technician
Location: Bury
Qualiteach is currently looking for an experienced science technician for a mainstream secondary academy based within the Bury area. The role is due to begin on 02/09/2024 and will continue on an ongoing basis, 5 days per week until the academy appoint on a permanent basis. There is therefore the possibility that this role could become permanent for the right candidate.
Ideally you will have worked as a science technician within a school, academy or college previously but the school are happy to consider applicants with a strong science background with industry experience and recent science graduates with a passion for science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up and clearing away the equipment
- Assisting the science teacher with practical science experiments
- Ensuring all aspects of health & safety are adhered to
- Stock control
- Ensuring all equipment is safe and stored safely
- Supporting the science department and head of science as and when required
Key Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service
- Able to start on 02/09/2024 and commit on a long-term basis, 5 days per week
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail
The academy are looking for someone with a real passion for science who can actively support the department. You will be tenacious, adaptable with immaculate attention to detail.
