Science Technician – Immediate Start
The Heath School, Runcorn
ASAP Start | Full-Time | Term-Time Only + Inset Days
Salary: Dependent on experience

Are you passionate about science and supporting young learners? Do you thrive in a practical, hands-on environment? The Heath School in Runcorn is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their dynamic science faculty immediately.

About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of outstanding science lessons. You’ll be working alongside a friendly and experienced team, ensuring our laboratories are safe, well-equipped, and ready for practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up practical experiments for KS3 and KS4 science lessons

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring safety and hygiene standards

  • Assist teaching staff with demonstrations and support students during practical work

  • Manage stock levels and order supplies as needed

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (CLEAPSS guidance)

About You:
  • Previous experience in a science or technician role (school-based or similar)

  • Sound knowledge of laboratory safety and procedures

  • A science qualification (A-Level or higher preferred)

  • Highly organised with a proactive and flexible approach

  • DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
