Screener

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for a Cargo X-Ray Screener to join a global freight forwarder on a temp to perm basis at their London facility, based near Kentish Town.

The job role will involve x-ray screening parcels ready for export. We can provide training, but we are ideally looking for a candidate with previous experience working within a warehouse environment or with a previous experience in x-ray screening in some sort of capacity i.e. passenger/ hold baggage/ cargo.

Please note - you will only be able to start once we've completed your 5-year employment and/or education history referencing. This process typically takes between 2 to 3 working weeks, therefore, there is no immediate start is available.
We will also apply for your DBS and you will need to complete Cargo Operative training (online) before you start.

SHIFT HOURS:

Monday - Friday 16:00 - 21:00

You will receive:

• £14.02 pay rate (including location allowance)

Duties will include:

• Working in a fast-paced Warehouse Environment
• Loading and Unloading Parcels onto X-ray machine, Conveyor belts and ULDs
• Using a hand-held scanner, Parcels will need to be scanned as they travel through the facility
• Adhering to all Health and Safety instructions in the warehouse
• X-Ray Screening Cargo, looking out for any explosive threats.
• Keeping up to date with screening training

This position will involve repetitive manual lifting it is essential that you have a good level of fitness.

Candidates will require:

• Safety Boots / Steel Toe capped boots (you need to provide these)
• 5-year checkable employment and/or education history, ideally based in the UK
• Valid DBS Certificate (dated in the last 10 weeks). The DBS must not show any disqualifying criminal convictions. Right Now Group can apply for your DBS.
• Cargo Operative Training (aviation security training) to be completed prior to starting. Right Now Group will provide this.
• You will need to complete an online eye test to determine you do not have any challenges with colour (not colour blind), as you will need to look at images in colour in order to be a qualified screener.
• DNXCT Screening Course and Training (we can complete this)
• Must have strong written and verbal communication in English.

Right Now Group will upfront the cost of your DBS and Cargo Operative Training and we will deduct the total from your first two weeks' of pay.
