Early Career Teacher (ECT)

Secondary ECT required - Grammar Schools and Ofsted 'Outstanding' Schools across Hertforshire - St Albans, Watford, Welwyn Garden City, Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead - September 2025 - Exceptional induction programme - MPS1-4 (£33,075 - £39,495) depending on subject and successful interview.

With a huge variety of the best schools in Hertfordshire we are already actively working on PERMANENT September posts for schools in St Albans, Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City. These schools all offer a supportive environment with experienced and approachable mentors.

The successful ECT teacher will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to their subject and showcase a committed and eager attitude at interview. Full interview coaching and prep is available and we're also able to support with your lesson observation. Our schools offer induction programme, reduced timetables and regular and transparent weekly / bi-weekly meetings for all ECTs designed to create outstanding practitioners as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities of the Early Career Teacher (ECT) include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge all pupils, ensuring progress and attainment.
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress, providing effective feedback and support to improve learning outcomes.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to plan, deliver and evaluate the curriculum, ensuring that it meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, managing challenging behaviour effectively and ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Participating in the school's CPD programme, engaging in professional learning and contributing to school development.
  • Engaging with parents and carers to promote positive relationships and support pupil learning and progress.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and be an excellent communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents. They will be highly motivated, adaptable, and committed to their own professional development.
