Job Title: English/Drama Teacher

Location: Swindon

Salary: MPS/UPS

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Learning:

    • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English and Drama that meet the needs of all students.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
    • Prepare students for national examinations in both subjects.
    • Integrate technology and innovative practices into the curriculum.
  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Contribute to the development and review of the English and Drama curriculum.
    • Ensure lessons are aligned with the school’s educational goals and standards.
    • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans.
  3. Assessment and Reporting:

    • Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
    • Maintain accurate records of students’ achievements and progress.
    • Prepare and present reports on students’ performance to parents and school leadership.
  4. Classroom Management:

    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
    • Foster a culture of respect and collaboration among students.
  5. Extra-Curricular Activities:

    • Organize and participate in extra-curricular activities related to English and Drama, such as school plays, drama clubs, and literary events.
    • Encourage student participation in these activities to enhance their learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree in English, Drama, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching English and Drama at the secondary school level.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring students.
