We are inviting applications for the role of Head of Geography at our outstanding school in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and inspiring educator with a passion for geography and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our dynamic Geography department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and overseeing the development of an engaging curriculum.

Day to day of the role:
  • Lead and manage the Geography department, fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a challenging and engaging geography curriculum that inspires a love of learning in students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Participate in and contribute to extracurricular activities and school events, enhancing the school’s community spirit.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Significant experience teaching geography at secondary school level, with a track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship building.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a drive to stay current with educational research and best practices.
