Secondary Pastoral Assistant

LTF Recruitment is seeking a Pastoral Assistant for a welcoming secondary school in Ealing, London.

Location: Ealing, London
Salary: up to £450 take home a week
Start Date: September
Contract Type: Permanent

Job Role:

Support the pastoral manager in creating a positive learning environment for students, fostering positive relationships, and working to improve behaviours and attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the pastoral lead to enhance student behaviour and attendance.
  • Provide targeted support to students facing social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) challenges within the classroom.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with students to address specific pastoral concerns.
  • Respond to on-call support as part of the school's pastoral team.
  • Regularly review and adjust educational plans based on ongoing assessments and progress.
  • Complete risk assessments to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage positive behaviours.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a school pastoral role or similar position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in supporting students effectively.
  • Passion for education and helping students reach their full potential.
