Location: Newcastle

Salary: £75 - £110 per day

Status: ASAP/ September 2024

GSL Education is looking for an Secondary Teaching Assistant - SEMH to support Secondary schools in Newcastle.

Job Summary: Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistants in secondary settings support the learning activities of SEMH needs of children under the direction of a lead teacher, focusing on fundamental educational activities and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEMH students in their learning journey, providing tailored assistance in understanding.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective learning strategies and materials.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEMH students in an secondary educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the varying needs of students.
  • A proactive and positive approach to learning and teaching.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in education or language support.
