Role Overview

We are looking for Security officers to join our established team at Harwich International Port. This is a zero hour contract position that offers flexible working with 20 days holidays per year. The role involves early morning starts and late night finishing, there will also be quick turn rounds, this means living within close proximity to the Port or private transport would be a necessity as some of our shifts start before public transport operates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas and maintain a visible presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to ensure the safety and security of the premises
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances or suspicious activities
• Enforce property rules, regulations, and policies to maintain order and safety
• Provide assistance and support to employees, visitors, and customers as needed
• Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during each shift
• Complete vehicle and passenger searches .
• Access and egress control for site
• Control traffic on site

About You:

• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
• Proven experience as a security officer or relevant position preferred.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Various other duties as required.
• Full training will be given.
• You must hold a Valid SIA Security license.
• Valid UK driver’s license desirable but not essential.
• Due to shift pattern and hours this role would only suit applicants who live within a 5 mile radius of Harwich Port.
