About Us:

Opogo is a leading education staffing agency that connects skilled professionals with schools. We are dedicated to supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, partnering with schools to ensure every child receives the care they deserve.

The Role:

We are looking for dedicated SEMH Learning Mentors to join our team. You will support students' social, emotional, and mental health development, working closely with teachers, parents, and professionals in partner schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans.
  • Assist in activities promoting emotional and social development.
  • Help students develop coping strategies and resilience.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive classroom environment.
  • Support students during school activities and events.
  • Liaise with parents, caregivers, and external agencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience with children or young people, preferably in education.
  • Knowledge of SEMH needs and support practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.
