SEMH Learning Support Assistant
- Job Type: 4 x Full time Teaching Assistants (parT time may be considered for the right candidate)

- Actual Starting Salary (39 working weeks): £19,315 (based on 35 hours per week, term time only + INSET)
We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our clients team within a specialist Academy, supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues. Our school is rapidly progressing and expanding, catering to students in years 5-11 with SEMH difficulties. We are seeking enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated Teaching Assistants/Mentors who are passionate about inclusive education. The school is based in Weston-Super-Mare , for KS4.
Day to Day of the role:- Assist in the educational, personal, and social development of designated students under the direction and guidance of the Principal, SENCo, and class teachers.
- Support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum and engage with their learning.
- Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to students’ responses.
- Deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role.
- Enthusiasm for and commitment to supporting young people with SEMH.
- Resilience and motivation to help students achieve their full potential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of each student.
- Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
