Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're looking for a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Croydon and make a real impact in students' lives.
About the Role:
You'll be working closely with students who require tailored emotional, behavioural, and academic support-both 1:1 and in small groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners build confidence, overcome barriers, and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Support learning across subjects and help manage challenging behaviour positively
Implement strategies set by SENCOs, teachers, and therapists
Build trusting relationships with students to promote emotional wellbeing
Record and report student progress and behaviour
Support the wider team with daily routines and interventions
What We're Looking For:
? Experience supporting students with SEMH needs (in schools, PRUs or care settings)
? Calm, confident, and empathetic approach
? Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
? Passion for helping students reach their potential
? Team player with a proactive attitude
? Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
