Semi-Senior Accountant

We are recruiting for a firm of accountants based in Bedfordshire, who are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing firm and team. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason. 

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of VAT Returns
• Bookkeeping and assistance with Accounts Preparation
• Assisting with audits on occasion both in and out of the office
• Continuing to develop and nurture strong working relationships with colleagues and clients alike
• Answering calls and dealing with basic client queries about personal and business accounting and routine tax matters and escalating where appropriate
• Keeping clients aware of services we can provide
• Administration and other ad hoc tasks as required
• Being able to work to reasonable budgets, and maintaining good communication with all team members

Requirements:

• Previous exposure to all or some of the following accounting packages SAGE, QuickBooks and Xero
• Good basic Microsoft Office skills in particular word and excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Full driving licence and car
• Ability to work on your own initiative
