Hays Education are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants in South Warwickshire and, with over 10 years' experience, are experts in their field. Hays are currently looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants within Leamington and the surrounding areas, to work in and out of a classroom environment supporting small groups and individual children.The jobs I am recruiting for are to start in the new academic year in September, and there are full-time and part-time options available.


Your new role

You'll be working within a classroom environment as a SEN Teaching Assistant on either a 1-1 or small group basis, depending on the school's needs. You will need to be passionate and understanding of children with SEN needs and be committed to helping the children to get the most from their day. This may mean using your initiative to adapt your daily plan to suite the children's needs and learning styles. You will need to make your learning environment stimulating and engaging for the child and must have a good understanding of child-led learning and be prepared to assist in the preparation of activities throughout the day.

What you'll need to succeed

  • To succeed as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you must have a minimum of 40 days experience working within a school setting.
  • Good communication skills are essential, as you will be frequently working with multiple external agencies and colleagues throughout your day.
  • You must be empathetic and passionate, with a good understanding of children with SEN and an ability to be able to assist in them reaching their goals.
  • You will need to understand the children, be open-minded and willing to adapt your day and work to your own initiative and demonstrate effective behaviour management skills.
