1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location- Scunthorpe

Role- Mornings only (15 hrs per week)

I am currently working with a school in Scunthorpe to recruit a 1:1 teaching assistant to join their team from September 2024 on a long-term assignment which has the potential to become permanent.

The headteacher is seeking a teaching assistant who has SEN experience to work with a children on a 1:1 basis in Year 1. The child has an EHCP and struggles to communicate with adults and other children. They are working well below age related expectation, can display some challenging or disruptive behaviour and also will need some personal care.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a specific child to support with their additional needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the class teacher and the school's SENCO regarding progress and next steps alongside keeping in regular contact with the child's parents/carers.
  • Manage strategies to support them within the classroom and other school learning environments.



The ideal candidate will:

  • Have had experience working with children in a nursery or school setting.
  • Have had some experience working with children with additional needs.

An Early Years or TA qualification will be a benefit however isn't a necessity.

The school are looking at meeting any interested applicants through w/c 8/7/24 and hope to make a decision quickly. You can expect to be paid between £85 and £90 per day.
