SEN Support Assistant Opportunity in Ealing | Starting September 2024

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with special educational needs, including Autism and Genetic Disorders?

We are currently seeking an outstanding, experienced, and friendly individual to join our primary schools in Ealing and provide essential support to students with special educational needs.

SEN Support Assistant | Job Summary

  • Hours: 33.5 per week
  • Times: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
  • Pay: Up to £100 per day | Paid via PAYE or Umbrella on a weekly basis
  • Contract: Long-term contract beginning September 2024 until the end of the academic year
  • Responsibilities:
    • Offering group support and 1:1 support as needed
    • Working closely with students with SEN and additional needs, including Autism and Genetic Disorders
    • Supporting the emotional and social development of students
    • Assisting with the planning and delivery of tailored intervention sessions

About You:

  • Minimum of a 2:1 degree in Psychology from a top 20 UK university
  • Impressive set of A-levels and GCSEs
  • Previous experience working with SEN children
  • Passion, commitment, and capability to work with SEN students
  • Unrelenting in your pursuit of excellence in all aspects of your practice
  • Experienced in dealing with customers or the school community
  • Team-spirited and prepared to go above and beyond to get the job done
  • Demonstrate flexibility, the ability to work on your own initiative, and follow guidance from teachers
  • Demonstrate good behavior management strategies
  • Have a good standard of spoken and written English
  • Demonstrate specific approaches/interventions that you have used or may use
  • Know when to adapt teaching to make it simpler or harder
  • Provide feedback to children and staff
  • Engage in CPD to enhance your own skill set and develop strategies to support a wide range of needs
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and external professional agencies as needed
