Job Title: SEN Autism Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Start date: Immediately
Payrate: £94 to £110 per day
I am currently looking for a strong and dedicated level 3 teaching assistant to working with as a SEN Teaching Assistant, in a school in Sheffield. The role is working within Key stage one with a child with mild Autism. You will be working on a one to one basis with this pupil. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pupils education and development within a mainstream school.
To be successful for this role you will have good previous experience working with SEN students and you must be confident supporting a child one a one to one basis. You will need resilience due to the nature of this role. You will need to have a keen understanding of the requirements when working with pupils that have SEN.
Ideal person for this SEN role in Sheffield:
- Previous experience working with SEN - Ideally Autism (essential)
- Must have school based experience
- Experience working in a similar role
- The ability to understand the challenges that SEN students face and adapt an approach accordingly
- Empathetic and patient individual, with the ability to build a good rapport with the pupil
- Assist teachers and other staff in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEN is highly essential
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Must have a enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with GSL
