GSL is currently seeking a passionate Mathematics and Numeracy Lead Teacher to join a dedicated team for the remainder of the academic year and a permanent position from September in a secondary special school, located in the heart of Camden, our school provides a nurturing environment for students with EHCPs for SEMH needs, as well as those with additional identified needs in cognition & learning and communication & interaction.

Position Type: Full-Time
Start Date: June 2024
Contract Type: Temporary to permanent in September 2024

About the Role:

• Lead and deliver functional skills mathematics from entry levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as levels 1 and 2.
• Offer GCSE mathematics to students who have passed their level 1 examination by the end of Year 9.
• Support students' fluency, problem-solving, and retention of knowledge through the numeracy programme during 4 x 15-minute sessions per week.
• Work with students with an EHCP for SEMH needs, and secondary needs such as cognition & learning and/or communication & interaction.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching mathematics, ideally within a special educational needs environment.
• Strong understanding of SEMH needs and experience supporting students with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
