SEN Teaching Assistant Role
Aspire People, an education specialist agency, is currently seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to work closely with students on a 1-1 basis as well as supporting small groups. This opportunity allows you to support students with a variety of SEN, such as ASD, ADHD, and Down Syndrome, aiding their personal development.
Role Responsibilities:
* Learning Support: Prepare learning materials under the teacher's supervision.
* Individual and Group Support: Work inside or outside the classroom with individuals or groups.
* Tailored Assistance: Adapt support according to the specific needs of students.
* Holistic Care: Look after children's physical, social, and emotional welfare.
* Stimulating Environment: Create an engaging and stimulating environment for students.
* Teacher Assistance: Provide information and support to teachers.
* Record Keeping: Maintain records and attend review meetings.
* Professional Collaboration: Work with professionals such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
* Safeguarding: Ensure a safe and healthy environment, following safeguarding procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
* Passion for Education: Enthusiastic about working in an educational setting.
* SEN Experience: Experience in working with a variety of SEN. That experience could come from a family setting, support worker setting, care worker setting etc …
* Caring and Supportive: Ability to offer holistic support to the pupils under their care.
Requirements:
* Clearances and Checks: EWC, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
* Legal Right to Work: Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS Disclosure: Willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, guidance provided.
