Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners? Empowering Learning is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding primary school in Camden. This full-time role focuses on supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with Special Educational Needs (SEN), starting in September and extending throughout the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children in the EYFS with various SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate closely with EYFS teachers to implement and adapt individual education plans (IEPs) and learning materials.
  • Create an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic development of each child.
  • Assist with classroom management and support the overall well-being of the children.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and the SENCo.
  • Work with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to support each child's development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally within an EYFS setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience supporting young children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
