Job Title: SEN Teacher

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join one of its client schools in Enfield. This role involves working with students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Academic Requirements & Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A relevant degree in Education or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage and adapt lesson plans effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students with SEN, using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to parents, carers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and well-being.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and child protection.
