Trauma-Informed Teaching AssistantLocation: Plymouth Start Date: September 2024 Salary: £85 per day

We are seeking a compassionate and understanding Teaching Assistant who is trained in trauma-informed practices to support our students. This role is crucial in creating a safe and supportive learning environment for children who have experienced trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply trauma-informed strategies to support the emotional and educational needs of students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual support plans.
  • Create a stable and reassuring environment that allows students to feel secure and understood.
  • Use a sensitive approach to manage behaviours and promote positive interactions.
  • Support the development of resilience and coping strategies in students.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed educational practices.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students and build trust.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere.
  • Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo professional development in trauma-informed education.
