Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting and academic SEND secondary school in Winsford as they are looking to appoint two motivated and reliable temporary contracts. This is a very academic school that are looking for individuals that can commit for full-time long-term contracts.

Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting across all KS3 and KS4 classes. This is a lovely open-planned secondary school with small classes of SEN pupils (up to 12 pupils per class), all of whom have moderate SEN and are extremely independent. You will work under the instruction of the class teacher to promote a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment, ensure that all learning resources are effectively utilised, and to effectively manage behaviour. You will offer intervention and booster sessions on a 1:1 and small group basis in core subjects and build strong constructive relationships with pupils by actively encouraging their input during lessons. Towards the latter end of the year, you will aid with transitions from KS3 - KS4, KS4 - FE, GCSE preparation, and school productions.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with pupils between the ages of 11 - 16 in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • The ability to take a pupil-centred approach to learning
  • Have experience delivering intervention and booster sessions in core subjects
  • Be able to commit to a full-time long-term temporary contract
