We're looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at our mainstream primary school. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Primary School
Start Date: September 2024
Duration: Full-time, Long-term
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and accommodations to meet the needs of students with SEN.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques to promote students' social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and outside agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting students with SEN.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, either in an educational or care setting, is preferred but not essential.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children with SEN.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo any necessary training or professional development related to SEN support.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity within the school community.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
