A Primary School in the BS35 area of South Gloucestershire are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work 1 to 1 with SEND children across the school.

This 2 form entry Primary School works relentlessly and creatively in partnership with parents and carers to equip and educate pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding for endless opportunities in learning and life.

The Role

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the SENDCo and Class Teacher to support singular children across KS1 and KS2,

The Head Teacher is looking for a candidate who has excellent communication skills, someone with prior experience working with SEND children and has a positive but flexible approach to working with multiple children.

You will be expected to start this position from September on a Full-Time Basis

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to assess development.

  • Work 1 to 1 with SEND children with SEMH and Challenging Behaviour.

  • Have high expectations for the individual to succeed.

  • Delivering Speech and Language sessions.

  • Create a stimulating and purposeful environment

  • Be flexible and adapt activities based on the pupils' needs and emotional feelings.

  • Assess and communicate the individuals’ successes and developments.
