Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Newham

Salary Scale:  £85- £95 per day (based on experience)

Start Date: September 2024

GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and patient SEN Teaching Assistant for one of its client schools in Newham.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to deliver tailored support and interventions, ensuring that every child receives the individual attention they need to thrive.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs if required.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.

You should have the following:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A caring and patient nature with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
