£95 - £110 a day - depending on experience

Teach Plus are currently working with a "Good" primary school within the Haringey area, they are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for September.

Where pupils learn that they can achieve anything and the school nurtures their emotional intelligence.

For this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will be expected to support the class teacher with a Year 5 pupil with SEMH. You will need to provide ongoing support for pupils' educational development, including those with special educational needs. The role involves assisting teachers in creating a positive learning environment and providing individualised support to pupil.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
  • Understand Social Emotional Mental Health and have experience with trauma training.
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours consistent with the role and in line with the expectations.
  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide teaching and learning support including the use of appropriate technical resources.
  • Support the pupil with SEMH and positive handling

The ideal candidate for a SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN - SEMH and Challenging Behaviour
  • Has trauma training or similar
  • Understanding of de-escalation
  • Has experience with positive handling
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service - Child work force
  • Right to work within the UK
  • Overseas criminal clearance.
