  • Assist the child in accessing the full curriculum, adapting resources and tasks where necessary.
  • Support the pupil in sensory rooms and inclusion areas, helping to manage sensory overload and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Monitor and report on the pupil's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to assessments.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment that promotes the pupil's emotional and social development.
  • Participate in any required training, including Team Teach, to ensure the highest standards of care and support.

About You:

  • A TA qualification is preferred but not essential if you have strong experience in SEN support.
  • A TEAM Teach qualification is advantageous, but not required as training can be provided.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with ASD and the strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil and their family.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to provide consistent support.

What We Offer:

  • A warm and welcoming school environment with a strong focus on inclusion.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the life of a child with ASD.
  • Ongoing professional development, including Team Teach training.
  • A supportive team of colleagues who are committed to your success.

How to Apply:
If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are ready to make a difference in a Year 4 pupil's life, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
