About the School: Our client is a large Secondary school catering to SEN children who need extra support to get the most out of their educational journey. If you want to deliver a lasting impact on children with learning and behavioural challenges ten read on!

Responsibilities: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to provide support and assistance to students within the classroom setting. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will contribute to the student's overall well-being and academic progress. Your duties may include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
  • Supporting students in their day-to-day activities, including academic tasks, personal care, and social interaction.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and interactive lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and resources.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in educational support work, care, or a professional service is highly desirable
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEND and an understanding of their unique needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students' development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and ever-changing educational environment.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
