Prospero Teaching are looking for resilient and experienced Teaching Assistants to work in one of our inspirational primary Schools in Sunderland from September on a full-time basis. The role will involve working across KS1 and KS2.
A key part of the role will be to work effectively alongside Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure all pupils receive the best possible levels of support that are suited to their individual learning styles and needs. The role will also involve working with pupils with a range of SEN and challenging behaviour.
The school works with pupils with a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour. Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal, some may require personal care and others may display challenging behaviour. This role will involve:
· Supporting young people with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
· Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and consistent manner.
· Building positive relationships with students and staff
· Having a "hands on" approach to supporting children in their learning, with a willingness to interact with pupils and engage with them.
· Working with Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience.
This role requires:
· An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
· An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
· A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
· Experience in classrooms supporting students.
· High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
· A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
· An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
If you are interested in the role and would like to be considered, please apply for the role promptly as the school are looking for staff to start as soon as possible.
