Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: All-through SEN School, Westminster

Position Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Salary: £80-£100 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2024

Job Description:

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an all-through SEN school in Westminster. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September. The successful candidate will support children with autism and complex needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality of education and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children with autism and complex needs in an educational setting.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living tasks as required.
  • Implement tailored educational activities and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Manage challenging behaviour.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with autism in a UK-based school setting.
  • Ability to provide personal care to students.
  • Enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service is essential.
  • Team Teach training is an advantage.
  • Experience in care work is desirable.
