What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for an inspirational tutor to support a pupil with SEMH in Nottingham. We support pupils with SEND and SEMH who are not attending school for a number of reasons including medical needs, Mental Health issues, lack of a suitable school place or are waiting for a new school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to education or to continue their learning.

We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About The Pupil

Our pupil is a bright 5-year-old who has difficulties with social interaction. He has experienced a challenging home environment growing up which affected his ability to manage his behaviours with others. He is generally a polite and friendly child who likes playing with his toy cars and riding his bike. We would love to find someone who can incorporate his interests in his learning and make it more engaging for him.

An ideal tutor for this pupil would be someone who is nurturing and empathetic. We welcome people from therapy and counselling backgrounds. You may have experience working with early years foundation stages; he is at age expected levels.

If you're eager to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life and help them reach their full potential, then this opportunity is right for you.

About you:

  • You’ll have some experience with SEN: SEMH, Adverse Childhood Experiences

  • Ideally, have some experience in helping children with their learning

  • Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils

  • Use a person-centred approach in their work

  • Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do

  • Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.

Benefits:

  • Generous and competitive rates of pay

  • Opportunities for professional development

  • Friendly support and guidance to enable you to meet the individual needs of learners and to ensure that you feel confident in your position
